5.27.14

Lectio:  Jn 16.12-15                                                                                 

Meditatio: “ I [Jesus} have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.”  Jn 16.12,13a

Oratio: O God, You knew that Your Son would not have enough time on this earth to guide Your children in the ways of truth and so You provided well for us.

I remember Jesus told His disciples that they could not bear to hear all that they needed to know, but that they would receive the Spirit who will guide them in all truth and Your Spirit did come and remains with us now. May I always be open to the guidance of the Spirit for that is Your will and how I best show my love for You.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:  "Spirit..guide...truth”; Jesus did not leave us alone after His resurrection but sent His Spirit and the Father’s Spirit to be with us until the end of time. In prayer ask the Holy Spirit to come, to fill our hearts, with truth and guide us in the ways of justice, peace and love..
