5.19.14

Lectio:  Jn 14.27-31a

Meditatio: “Peace I [Jesus] leave with you, my peace I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” Jn 14. 27

Oratio: O God, You are our all!

I remember in times of trouble, Jesus gave us the remedy - His peace! It is a peace that the world cannot give. It is a peace that is based on infinite love. Seek the grace to rely on Jesus when your hearts are troubled for He is our refuge, our strong support, our brother who will see us through because He loves us.

Grant that I may always love You with my whole heart, my whole soul and my whole strength for that is the least I can do for all You do for me.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "Peace...not...be troubled”; peace is not simply a cessation of conflict but it is Jesus blessing upon us; a Messianic blessing; a blessing of salvation; In prayer seek the grace to seek the Lord in all things and do His will and our hearts will never be troubled; nor need we fear anything for He is at our side to protect us from all that could harm our immortal soul and one day He will bring us to eternal peace in His kingdom..

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 15.1-8
