Lectio: 7.15.13

Mt 11.20-24

Meditatio: "Jesus began to reproach the towns where most of his mighty deeds had been done., since they did not repent.” Mt 11.20

Oratio:  O God, Your Son gave clear evidence that He should be listened to as He worked mighty deeds - curing the seek, driving out demons, raising the dead!

I remember Your Son reproached those towns who saw these mighty deeds but did not repent as He called them to do- how sad and awful for them; but it will be sad and awful for us, too, if we do not heed His message.

Grant that I may reform my life and live in accordance with the Great Law of Love - the summary of all the laws and the prophets.

I ask all things through Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You, and the Holy Spirit. One God, forever and ever.

Operatio:  reflect on " reproach...not repent”: rebuke, condemn, for not turning away from their sinful ways; in prayer seek the grace to accept the Good News - its promises and its demands - so that I may live as a true brother of Christ.

Tomorrow's reading:  Mt 11.25-27
