8.02.15

Lectio:  Mt 13-21

Meditatio: “Those who ate were about five thousand men, not counting women and children.”
Mt 13.21

Oratio: O God, Your Son is so compassionate that He fed over 5000 with only 5 loaves and 2 fish; and this miracle is also reported in Mk 6.34; at Lk 9.12 and Jn 6.1, a miracle that foretold His feeding all throughout the ages with His body and blood. Pray to receive the Eucharist worthily and thank Jesus for this miracle of feeding us with His very self.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operatio:  reflect: "five thousand....not counting”; if we counted the women and children demographers estimate that there were probably 13, 000 fed. Seek the grace to receive the Eucharist as often as possible for this is the Bread of Life and the source of everlasting life - a miracle of monumental proportion for which we should always give thanks.

Tomorrow's reading:Mt 9.35-10.1
