8.26.15 to 8.28.15

8.26.15

Lectio  Mt 24.42-51

Meditatio: “Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord  will come." Mt 24.42

Oratio: O God, Jesus made it clear that no one knows when the end comes for them. Pray that you may live always in a manner that is pleasing to Him and we will not have to fear the end.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “stay awake...not know...day"; no one knows the day and the hour when the Lord will come for us. Seek the grace to always be ready and live a life of selfless love for that is the best state of preparedness.

Tomorrow's reading:  Mt 25.1-3

8.27.15

Lectio  Mt 25.1-13

Meditatio: “Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them." Mt 25.2-3

Oratio: O God, in Your Son's parable about the ten virgins, he made it clear, if we choose not to be ready for His  coming, He will grant our choice. Pray to stay alert and be ready to meet the Lord no matter when He comes and You will live in peace.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “Five...foolish...five...wise"; Jesus wants us to be prudent and rely on our common sense and not to consider the virtues of faith and hope sufficient to be saved. Seek the grace to use our time and our talent in pursuit of the Lord and we will not be disappointed.
                                                    .
Tomorrow's reading:Mk 6.17-29

8.28.15

Lectio  Mk 6.17-29

Meditatio: “The king was deeply distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests, he did not wish to break his word to her.” Mk 6.26

Oratio: O God, You want us to keep our promises but not if keeping it brings harm to others or brings about adverse consequences not foreseen. Pray to be faithful to all your promises that God would want you to keep.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “because ...oaths...not break word”; although oaths are solemn promises and are expected to be kept; that is not the case when the one taking the oath fails to foresee adverse consequences, and when such consequences are perceived, the promise does not oblige.  Seek the grace to keep all legitimate promises and set aside all promises made in haste and which have adverse results, if kept.

Tomorrow's reading:Mk 7.1-8, 14-15, 21-23
