8.12 & l8.13.15

8.12.15

Lectio: Mt 18.21-19.1

Meditatio: “Jesus answered, 'I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times'." Mt 18.22

Oratio: O God, Your Son made it clear that we should forgive one another as often as needed for You are a God of mercy. Pray that I never count the times I forgive another but always forgive for that is how I best please God.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “not seven...but"; Jesus once us to imitate His Father when it comes to forgiving and He wants us to place no limit on the number of times.  Seek the grace to be merciful as our Heavenly Father is merciful for the measure which with we measure, is the measure that will be used on us.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 19.3-12

8.13.15

Lectio: Mt 19.3-12

Meditatio: “Because of your hardness of hearts Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so." Mt 19.8

Oratio: O God, Your Son made it clear that divorce was not part of God's plans from the beginning. Pray that married couples will covenant a love that is faithful, exclusive and lasting for that is what God intended from the beginning.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
