8.08.15

Lectio: Jn 6. 41-51

Meditatio: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” Jn 6.51

Oratio: O God, Jesus made it clear in His Bread of Life Discourse, that He will be present in the Eucharist a very real way and He gives us the strength to achieve our fondest hope, eternal life. Pray to receive the Eucharist often as it is THE food which will sustain us on our journey to the kingdom.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “I...living bread....live forever”; Jesus gives of Himself in the Eucharist so that we might have our greatest hope - the kingdom of heaven. Seek the grace to always receive the Eucharist worthily for it is so precious - it is Jesus, Himself and our bread of life.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 12.24-26
