8.17.15

Lectio:  Mt 19.23-30

Meditatio: “When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and said, ‘Who then can be saved’?” Mt 19.25

Oratio: O God, Your Son told His disciples of the great difficulty it would be for the rich to enter the kingdom; but He also assured them that nothing is impossible for God; thereby giving hope to all classes of people, if they simply turn to Him.  Pray that I may never presume but always rely of Jesus’ compassion and mercy for a very good ending of my present life.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “disciples...Who....be saved”; Jesus assured His disciples that even the rich can be saved for nothing is impossible for God.  Seek the grace to have a humble and contrite heart for that is most pleasing to God and He will be kind and compassionate to you both now and forever.

Tomorrow's reading:Mt 20.1-16
