8.23.15

Lectio:  Jn 1.45-51

Meditatio: “Jesus saw Nathaniel coming toward him and said of him, ‘Here is a true Israelite. There is no duplicity in him’.” Jn 1.47

Oratio: O God, Your Son made it very clear that He wants us to be honest when He acknowledged that Nathaniel had no duplicity in him and thus, he was a true Israelite. Pray to be honest in all matters for that is a character trait that Jesus so much admired and so much wants of us.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “Nathaniel....no duplicity”;  duplicity is also synonymous with trick, deception, dishonesty.  Seek the grace to be above board in all things and to be a person of integrity so your ‘Yes’ means ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ means ‘No.’  And pray to Nathaniel, a.k.a. Bartholomew, to help you to achieve this virtue.                                                              .

Tomorrow's reading:Mt 23.23-26
