Lectio: Jn 19.25-27

“The he [Jesus] said to his disciple, ‘Behold your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his home’.” Jn 19.27

“O God, You know our needs and especially our needs for our mothers.

I remember Jesus gave His mother to John as He was dying and he took her into his home from that hour.

Grant that I may always have recourse to Mary for she is our mother through grace and she loves us as only a mother can.

I ask this of You who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.

Operatio: Reflect on “Mary” - she is Christ’s mother; and she is our mother through grace; she loves us; she only wants the best for us. In prayer and with confidence and adulation let us cry out, ‘O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you.’ And she will for she is truly our mother.

Tomorrow’s readings: Lk 8.1-3
