9/20/11

Lectio: Mt 9.9-13

“Go and learn the meaning of these words, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.” Mt 9.13

“O God, You know us and You know our sins and You still want us - how kind of You!

I remember Jesus made this clear when He declared to the religious elite that He came to call sinners.

Grant that I may always rejoice in You who are so kind and merciful.
I ask this of You who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.

Operatio: Reflect on “Mercy” - a heart full of love, forgiving, positive, salvific. Pray for the grace to be merciful as God is merciful and show it in my every thought, words and deeds.

Tomorrow’s readings: Lk 9.7-9
