9/14/11

Lectio: Lk 8.1-3

“Joanna, the wife of Herod’s steward, Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their resources.” Lk 8.3

“O God, You created men and women and You always upheld their goodness and equality.

I remember Jesus broke with the 1st century Palestinian prejudice and allowed women to accompany Him on His preaching tours.

Grant that I may always show respect and give honor and praise to the women in my life who are doing Your will.

I ask this of You who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.

Operatio: Reflect on “women”- God’s creatures; filled with self-giving love, loyal, trustworthy and helpful; in prayer ask for the grace to always treat women with upmost respect for how they have and for how they are carrying out God’s plan for our salvation.

Tomorrow’s readings: Lk 8.4-15
