3.28.12

Lectio: Gn 17.3-9

Meditatio: “God said to Abraham: ‘On your part, you and your descendants after you must keep my covenant throughout the ages’.” Gn 17.9

Oratio: "O God, out of love You promise us salvation but You expect us to do our part.
I remember You entered a covenant with Abraham that You would be his and his descendant God and they would be Your people but they were to keep the covenant - tragically they did not!

Grant that I may faithful to the new covenant made by Your Son with us and sealed with His blood for it, too, is the source of our salvation.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect: "covenant”; a solemn agreement; between parties who are lovers; the covenant of marriage; the New Covenant that Jesus entered with us; in prayer ask for the grace to do my part of the covenant and reflect it by abiding by the Great Law of Love.
