Lectio: Mk 6.14-29

Meditatio: "But when Herod learned of it, he said, ‘It is John whom I beheaded. He has been raised up’." Mk 6.16

Oratio: "O God, in the fullness of time, You sent Your Son to Your Chosen people who had been prepared by Your prophets.

I remember by the time of Your Son’s coming, the people already believed in the resurrection of the dead as even King Herod thought that John the Baptist, whom he beheaded, had been raised up.

Grant that I may rejoice in the victory of Your Son over death and that He has wonderfully granted us a share in His victory for we, too, will rise!

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "resurrection"; not resuscitation but to actually rise from the dead; In prayer thank Jesus for granting us a share in His victory for He told us that He is the resurrection and the life. All who believe in Him, although they should die, will live. Jn 11.25
