Lectio: ::Mt 9.14-15

Meditatio: "The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast." Mt 9.15b

Oratio: "O God, You provide a time for everything - both for joy and for sadness.

I remember Your Son told the disciples of John the Baptist that the reason Jesus’ disciples did not fast was that it was time for joy since He was present to them.

Grant that I may be ever grateful for the various times that are given to us so that I may live fully in this life and in the next.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "bridegroom"; in Matthew’s Gospel it is Jesus; in prayer thank God for the joy of the presence of His Son in the Eucharist and in His continual spiritual presence whenever we turn to Him in prayer; and seek the grace to look for Jesus throughout each day so that the joy of knowing He is there will fill my being.

Tomorrow's reading :Lk 5.27-32

P.S. Happy Valentine Day!
