Lectio: :Lk 5.1-11

Meditatio: "After he [Jesus] had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Put out into the deep water, and lower your nets for a catch’." Lk 5.4

Oratio: "O God, You know all things and even the mundane things such as where the fish in the sea are!

I remember Your Son told Peter to put out into the deep waters for a catch even though Peter, an experienced fisherman, had fished all night and caught nothing - Peter put out, lowered his nets and caught a tremendous catch!

Grant that I may heed Your promptings in all things for You only prompt us for our good.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "put out into the deep!"; Jesus’ directive to Peter; John Paul II cry to all; to Peter to catch fish, to us to spread the Good News to all; in prayer thank God for watching over us with loving care and to seek His will that all people be saved and then do our part to bring it about.

Tomorrow's reading :Mk 6:53-56
