Lectio: :Mk 6:53-56

Meditatio: "As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him," k 6.54

Oratio: "O God, You know how fickle we are - we recognize You when we are in need but not when You need us.

I remember Your Son was immediately recognized by the people of Gennesaret when He arrived by boat for they wanted something - healings; Yet when He needed them when He stood trial before Pontius Pilate, the people were not with him!

Grant that I may always be there for You when the need arises to recognize You and Your Son and not simply when I am in need.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "recognize"; to know, by sight, by faith; in prayer pray that I will always recognize Christ in others and to publically stand up for Christ whenever the occasion arises.

Tomorrow's reading :Mk 7.1-13
