Lectio Lk 4.24-30
Meditatio: "Again, there were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha the prophet, yet none of them were cleansed but only Naaman the Syrian."Lk 4.17
Oratio: "O God, You prepared us for Your Son’s coming by selecting a Chosen People - but You would use their rejection of Him to extend the benefit of His coming to all people.
I remember Jesus foretold this at the beginning of His public ministry when He reminded the People of His hometown that Elisha cleansed a foreigner of leprosy and not one of them.
Grant that I may let always grateful for the expansion of Your Son’s mission and may I do my part to help spread the Good News.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "Elisha"; one of the great prophets of Israel; cured a Syrian, a foreigner of leprosy; symbolized that Jesus’ coming would not be limited to the Chosen people; in prayer thank Jesus for coming to all people and ask for the grace to live in accord with the Good News and let selfless loved be my guiding principle.
