Lectio: Lk 15.1-3,11-32
Meditatio: "But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come back to life again, He was lost and now has been found." Lk 15.32
Oratio: "O God, how kind and merciful You are!
I remember Your Son told the parable about the prodigal son to make clear how You are open to a sinners return and how You rejoice when the sinners does.
Grant that I may imitate the prodigal’s father and readily accept back with love those who have gone astray.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "prodigal’s father"; a father who loves unconditionally; one who readily forgives grave offenses; one who rejoices when a child comes to his or her senses and does the right thing; in prayer thank God for being so kind and merciful towards us on our journey back to Him and ask for the grace to imitate the prodigal’s father and respond with compassion and forgiveness to others regardless of how we might feel about what they did.
