3/31/13

Lectio: 2Mt 28.8-15

Meditatio: "The soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed, and this story has circulated among the Jews to the present [day].’ Mt 28.15

Oratio: "O God, what length we go to justify our positions and often to the detriment of others!

I remember the religious elite bribed the guards of Jesus’ tomb to change their report of Jesus’ rising to the disciples stealing His body - how sad for the people they were called to serve and lead to their salvation!

Grant that I may be a person of truth and proclaim the truth even if does not support my position for the truth is what will set us free.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on "this story"; the disciple stole the body; not the truth that Jesus rose from the dead; what a loss for all generations to not to have a report of Jesus’ rising from non-believers. How sad for all down through the ages; in prayer thank God for the disciples ‘ courage to proclaim the truth despite the false testimony to the contrary and that we are now Easter people.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 20.11-18

Happy Easter everyone! This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad!
