Lectio: Jn 13.1-15
Meditatio: "If I , therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, your ought to wash one another’s feet." Jn 13.14
Oratio: "O God, You have revealed to us our path to greatness.
I remember Jesus washed the feet of His disciples at that first Holy Thursday supper - an act of great humility and service.
Grant that with Your grace I may overcome my prideful tendencies by graciously and willingly serving the needs of others no matter the task.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "washed your feet"; a task that not even the lowliest of servants could be ordered to do - yet Jesus washed the feet of His disciples to show us the importance of serving others; in prayer thank God for sending us His Son and may we always emulate His ways and especially His example of humble service for that is THE WAY to His kingdom and greatness.
