Lectio: Lk 24.1-12
Meditatio: "but when they entered [the tomb], they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus." Lk 24.3
Oratio: "O God, You are a God of surprises!
I remember when the women disciples of Jesus went to His tomb that first Easter morning, they found His tomb empty - not because someone stole His body as Mary Magdalene suspected, but that He had risen form the dead - Wow! And a double Wow! Because He gave us a share in His victory over death!.
Grant that I may always rejoice in the Good News which the devoted women first discovered; and with Your grace always believe in the Lord Jesus no matter how dark the times.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "empty tomb"; an unexpected event; the stone rolled back and no body in it; a thief had to do it; but wonderfully God raised His Son from the dead; in prayer thank God for granting us a share in His Son’s victory over death and for the grace to always believe in Jesus as the way, the truth and the life for so He is!
