Lectio :Lk 2.41-51a

Meditatio: ""After three days they [Mary and Joseph] found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions." Lk 2.46

Oratio: "O God, You continually reveal Your ways to us often in unexpected ways.

I remember Your Son, when he had reached the age of independence (12 years), stayed in Jerusalem and met with the teachers of Israel, asking them questions and answering theirs; and when Mary and Joseph asked. Him why he stayed behind, He told them that. He had to be about His Father’s business - how puzzling for them but how revealing of. His identity.

Grant that I may always remember that. You are a God of surprises and. You continually reveal. Yourself in the people and the events of our lives and may I be graced with discernment so as to recognize You, Your Son and His Mother.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the

Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect on "teachers"; the Scribes and Pharisees were the religious elite, the Scribes were learned it the law; but as was the case of Nicodemus, some Pharisees also were great teachers. Whoever were present when Jesus was there, were certainly impressed by this twelve year-old boy. In prayer thank God for being mindful of our need to be shown the things that are not of our present world so that one day we may be with. Him in HIs kingdom having recognized Him and His Son and Mary on the way.

Tomorrow's reading: :Jn 8.31-42
