Lectio: Jn 13.21-33,36-38
Meditatio: "So he [Judas] took the morsel and left at once. And it was night." Jn 13.30
Oratio: "O God, You continually offer us graces to help us on our journey back to You.
I remember Jesus declared at the Last Supper in the presence of Judas and the other eleven that one on them would betray Him and then He also said that the one with whom He shared a dipped morsel would be the one to betray Him - and Judas shared the morsel and still went out to carry out his betrayal - how sad!
Grant that I may be always open to the many graces You offer me to stay on the path that leads to You and always respond to those graces.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Reflect on "night"; a time after twilight and before dawn; darkness, the state of Judas as he carried out his betrayal; in prayer thank God for the many graces He offers us and accept them so that I can follow Jesus who is the way to eternal life.
