Lectio - Lk 9.11b-17

Meditatio: “Then taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing over them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.” Lk 9.16

Oratio: "O God, You are mindful of and respond to our needs.

I remember Jesus fed the huge crowd which was following him with five loaves and two fish because they were hungry. He gave us an example of how we should respond to the needs of others - by taking what we have, blessing it, breaking it and then giving it.

Grant that I may be Eucharist for others in their needs with what I have knowing You will do the rest.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Today I will reflect on what it means to be Eucharist for others and then be so for someone or some group today.

Tomorrow’s selection is from Mt 5.1-12
