Lectio - Lk 15.1-32

Meditatio: “And so he go up and went back to his father. While he was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him and filled with compassion, he ran to his son and embraced him.” Lk 15.20

Oratio: "O God, how You long for all of us!

I remember Jesus told a parable of the prodigal son whose father when he caught sight of him, was filled with compassion and ran to him and embraced and kissed him - how magnaimous of a gesture to a son who had treated his father so badly.

Grant that I may do my part to bring back those who are lost for that brings such great joy to You.

I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: Reflect - Do I reach out with open arms and a heart full of love to those who have left the Father’s house? If not resolve to do so, for that is the effective dynamic of the prodigal Father.

Tomorrow’s reading - Lk 7.1-10
