11.15.12
Lectio: 2 Jn 4-9
Meditatio: "Anyone who is so ‘progressive’ as not to remain in the teaching of the church does not have God; who does remain in the truth has the Father and the Son." 2 Jn 9

Oratio: "O God, You want us to advance and make progress but not at the expense of truth.

I remember John cautioned the so-called ‘progressives’ who on their own espoused new things about Christ including that He was simply a superior spiritual being but not God.
Grant that I may always conform my reflections on spiritual matters with the guidance provided by the Pope and the bishops in union with him for they alone have been given Your Spirit to guide us in the ways of spiritual truths.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "progressives"; a term used to describe those who espouse views that they believe are superior and true based on their own speculation as to what is right or good. In prayer thank God for providing authoritative guidance to us on the most important matter for us, our spiritual matters; and let us always humbly and with confidence accept the guidance of the Pope and the bishops in communion with him for that is the source of truth that Your Son has given to us.

Tomorrow's reading: 3 Jn 5-8
