11.26.12

Lectio: Rv 14.14-19
Meditatio: "So the one who was sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested." Rv 14..16

Oratio: "O God, You have warned us often and in devastating ways that there will be a final judgment on us as to how we lived our lives.

I remember Your evangelist, John, used the image of Your Son wielding a sharp sickle to harvest the earth as our certain ending and its finality - with no Do-overs!
Grant that I may produce the harvest to which You are entitled so that in the end I may be gathered into Your kingdom..
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "sickle...earth harvested"; symbolic of the end o f time and the fate of the good; the fate of the bad feel the sickle of the avenging angel and are thrown into the winepress - symbolic of the wrath of God. In prayer ask for the grace and use the grace to produce what God desires.

Tomorrow's reading: Rv 15.1-4
