11.24.12

Lectio: Dn 7.13-14

Meditatio: "He [Son of Man] received dominion, glory and kingship; nations and people of every language serve him." Dn 7.14a

Oratio: "O God, You revealed to our forefathers in faith - the plans You had for Your Son.

I remember Daniel, Your prophet, revealed the everlasting kingship of Your Son to your Chosen people for Jesus would use ‘Son of Man’ most often in referring to Himself.
Grant that I may be always loyal to Christ as my King and Savior and Brother for that is what He most prizes from us and it means we will be faithful in all things.
I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "dominion, glory, kingship"; all 3 are characteristics of Jesus’ reign but now and forever. In prayer thank God for giving us such a gracious and kindly King and ask for the grace to acknowledge His kingship here on earth by carrying out the tasks He has given me with haste and with love for that is the best way of showing that I am a loyal subject.

Tomorrow's reading: Rv 14.1-3, 4b-5.
