Lectio - Mt 16. 13-23
Meditatio: “Simon Peter said in reply, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God’.” Mt 16.16
Oratio: "O God, You want us to know You.
I remember You revealed to Peter that Christ is the Messiah and Your Son - what a revelation!
Grant that I may rejoice in knowing Jesus, for who He is, and draw near to You through him.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Today, I will reflect on what it means to say that Christ is the Son of the living God and what that means in my relationship with Him. Is it as close now that He has drawn near? Be thankful that He has drawn near and what that means for the future.
Tomorrow’s reading - Lk 9.28-36

Lectio - Lk 9.28b-36
Meditatio: “Then from the cloud came a voice that said, ‘This is my chosen Son, listen to him’.” Lk 9.35
Oratio: "O God, how marvelously you under gird our faith!
I remember Jesus took Peter, James and John up to the top of Mt. Tabor and there You had Him transfigured before their eyes in the company of Moses and Elijah - how gracious of you on this day to them - for Jesus would shortly be crucified.
Grant that I may always listen to the Church which speaks for Your Son today for You have given it to us to strengthen our faith.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Today, I will meditate on the Transfiguration and rejoice in the fact that we, too, will one day be transfigured and share in the glory of Jesus forever.
