Lectio - Mt 19.16-22
Meditatio: “When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad, for he had many possessions.” Mt 19.22
Oratio: "O God, the way to You is so simple - yet so hard.
I remember Jesus was approached by a young man who had kept all the commandments from his youth but would not give up his possessions - and he went away from You not realizing all You waned from him was his heart.
Grant that I may give You what You want from me for nothing compares with what You give in return.
I ask this of You, who lives and reigns with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.”
Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.
Operatio: Today, I will examine my attitudes to see if my heart is directed to God or to worldly things. If the latter, to take steps and set aside the things which keep me from giving my whole heart to God.
