9.02 & 9.03.15

9.02.15

Lectio Lk 5.1-11

Meditatio: "After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, 'Put out into the deep and lower your nets for catch'." Lk 5.4

Oratio: O God, even the fish obey him. I remember Jesus told Simon to put out into the deep and he caught an astonishing catch. Pray to obey the Lord in all things for then Jesus will use you as His instrument to accomplish His will and His blessing will be upon us.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:”Put out...deep....lower nets"; Peter obeyed and Jesus gifted him with s great catch of fish. Seek the grace to do and go where Jesus prompts you and your life will be blest.

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 5.33-39

9.03.15

Lectio Lk 5.33-39

Meditatio: "Jesus answered them, 'Can you make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them'?" Lk 5.34

Oratio: O God, when Jesus was challenged as to why His disciples did not fast, He revealed a marvelous fact that He was the long awaited Messiah for only the Messiah would break from the old religious traditions. Pray that the pronouncements of the Pope will always be seen as Jesus talking to us and accept his guidance even if it means breaking with the old ways of doing things.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "guests fast...bridegroom...with them"; Jesus made it clear as to why His disciples did not fast.  Seek the grace to perform religious traditions so long as they are relevant to our times for religion is not static but a dynamic relationship with God.

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 6.1-5
