9.17.15

Lectio Lk 8.1-3

Meditatio: "Afterward he journeyed from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Accompanying hin were the twelve and some women.” Lk 8.1, 2a

Oratio: O God, Your Son showed the high regard He had for women for He allowed them to accompany Him on His public ministry at a time when the culture cautioned men from even speaking with women in public.  Pray for an openness to all who spread the Good News whether with words or with deeds for Jesus has shown that all are worthy to proclaim the Good News and they do so for our greater good.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with.  You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is  saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “he journeyed....the twelve...some women”; Jesus not only allowed women to be part of His public ministry at a time when men did not even speak to women in public but they played an important part in its success as many women also provided for His ministry out of their resources. Seek the grace to be always grateful for the many women who helped spread the Good News and are still doing so for without them the Good News would have not have spread as rapidly nor have  been enriched with their practice.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 8.4-15
