9,09,15 & 9,10,15

9.09.15

Lectio Lk 6.27-36

Meditatio: "But to you who hear I say, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you." Lk 6.27

Oratio: O God, Your Son revealed a striking trait of Yours which He also wants us to imitate - love your enemies! In prayer recommend to God all those who have offended you and that will be a first step in adhering to the  principle to love your enemies.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “love...enemies"; Jesus did not simply say to respect your enemies but to love them - what a challenge! Seek the grace to always seek the good of the other for the other's sake without regard as to whom the other is; and you will meet the challenge Jesus lays down to you and you will receive the Father's mercy in full measure.

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 6.39-42

9.10.15

Lectio Lk 6.39-42

Meditatio: "Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?" Lk 6.41

Oratio: O God, Your Son warned us about judging others. I remember He said we can see a minor fault in someone else but ignore a major fault of our own. Pray that you will refrain from judging others for judgment is the Lord's!

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “notice...splinter...not perceive...beam"; Jesus pointed out the grave
inconsistency in our judging others as opposed to the standard we use in in judging ourselves. Seek the grace to let judging the other to the Lord for He alone can judge rightly.

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 6.43-49
