9.24.15

Lectio:  Lk 9.18-22

Meditatio: “He said, ‘The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by the elders, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised'.” Lk 9.22

Oratio: O God, Peter identified Your Son correctly as the Messiah of God and then you Son shocked all who were listening that the very One Whom the Jewish people were waiting, would be rejected and put to death. How tragic! Yet You in Your great love and goodness would raise Him from the dead so that death would have no power over us. Pray to always see Jesus for Who He is - He Holy One of God, our Lord and Savior, and our brother; and treat Him accordingly.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God speaks to you,

Operation: reflect, "Son of Man...suffer...rejected... killed...raised”; despite being All-powerful Jesus would be rejected by the very ones who were to prepare the people to greet Him. Seek the grace to recognize Jesus in the poor, the oppressed, the outcast, for that is where He is today and by recognizing Him in them and acting with love towards them., is the  way to be with Him for all eternity.

Tomorrow's reading: 9.43b-45
