Lectio  Lk 6.6-11

Meditatio: "The scribes and the Pharisees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the  sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him....Then Jesus said to them, ‘I ask you, if it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than destroy it’?” Lk 6.7, 9

Oratio: O God, You did not want a relationship with Your people based on legalism; rather Your Son made it clear that You want our relationship with You based on love. For he healed on the Sabbath day a man with a withered hand - an act that the religious leaders deemed work;  and the fact of Jesus doing so, gave them something to accuse Jesus of. How sad! Pray that your relationship with God will be always based on love and not on fear.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “scribes...Pharisees...cure...Sabbath...do good....do evil?” Jesus showed by His actions that curing a person on the sabbath is not work but an act of love. See the grace to always allow Love to be you guiding principle in your relationship with others and with God for that is the basis of true religion.

Tomorrow's reading:Mt 1.18-23
