9.18.15

Lectio  Lk 8.4-15                                                                

Meditatio: "Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it.” Lk 8.7                                                                                                         
Oratio: O God, Your Son gave the Word of God to all but not all received it well. Many are those who allowed the thorns choke it growth. Pray that the good things of this world may not choke the Word of God for nothing in this life compares with the Word of God  and through it we are richly blest.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with.  You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
 
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is  saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “seed...thorns...choked it”; Jesus generously shared His Words with all but many preferred the words of this world to His and they were the losers for it. Seek the grace to avoid attachment to material things for they last only a short time and are good for nothing in the end. Seek the grace to attach yourself to the spiritual for they are timeless and are lasting  help for us.
