Lectio Lk 6.20-26

Meditatio: "And raising his eyes toward his disciples, he said: ‘Blessed are you who are poor f or the kingdom of God is yours’.” Lk 6.10

Oratio: O God, Your Son proclaimed in His Sermon on the Plain that the poor were blessed - contrary to our culture’s view of the poor. Pray that I may overcome attachment to material things for being poor in spirit also warrants Your Son’s blessing.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “Blessed....poor...kingdom...yours” Jesus declared the poor blessed and He had in mind
both those who are poor in fact as well as those who are poor in spirit. Seek the grace of detachment from worldly things so that regardless of one’s economic status the blessing of the Lord will be upon you.

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 6.24-38
