9.14.15

Lectio  Jn 19.25-27

Meditatio: "Standing by the cross were his mother and his mother’s sister, Many, the wife fo Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.” Jn 19.25

Oratio: O God, what love and devotion Mary had for her Son for she was there for Him even in His carrying of the cross, standing at the foot of it during His dying on the cross, receiving His body when taken down from the cross and there for His burial. Pray to be there for others in their needs and especially in their dying needs for that is how Mary wants us to be as her children.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with.  You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is
 saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “standing...cross....his mother”;  Jesus’ mother was there for Him during His entire public ministry and was there for Him at a time of greatest need. Seek the grace to be present to others in their need and especially those times of their greatest need and sorrow for that is Mary’s way and Jesus’ way, too..

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 7.31-35
