9.19.15

Lectio   Mk 9.30-37                                                                          

Meditatio: "Then He sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, ‘If anyone wishes to first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all’.” Mk 9.35
                                      
Oratio: O God, Your Son told the Twelve and indeed to all o f us, where greatness lies. It is in being the servant of all.  Pray that I may willingly serve all who come to me for help and for those who do not come but who need help for that is how to achieve the greatness God wants for me..

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with.  You.
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
 
Contemplatio: spend some time in silence & meditate on the selected passage and hear what  God is  saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: “Twelve....first...last...servant...all”; the key to greatness in God’s kingdom is in being of service to others - in being  a servant; not a master.  Seek the grace to readily serve the needs of other and allow God to take care of me  for it is in being the servant of all that we become great in God’s eyes, the only eyes that count.
