12.05.14

Lectio:    Mt 9.35-10.1, 5a, 6-8

Meditatio: "Then he said, ‘The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest’.” Mt 9.37-38

Oratio: O God, You have done so much for us and you ask so little of us.

I remember Your Son noted the great harvest of souls that are there for You if only there were more laborers to bring them in. In prayer ask the Father to bring about a spring time in which the many vocations to be laborers will be accepted for our good and for the greater honor and glory of God.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "harvest...abundant...laborers...few”; the whole world is the harvest and it takes many to spread the word both as a vocation and as an avocation; seek the grace to do one’s part in spreading the good news for that is the way the harvest is brought in.
Tomorrow's reading: Mk 1.1-8
