12.13.14

Lectio: Jn 1.6-8, 19-28

Meditatio: "A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light.” Jn 1.6-8

Oratio: O God, You wanted all to accept Your Son, the Messiah.

I remember You sent a powerful preacher to testify to the Messiah and to prepare the people for Him. Sadly, many refused to believe and reform their lives despite the cry of John the Baptist.  In prayer testify to others about Christ especially by how you live your life.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "John...testify....light”; the light in the Gospel of John is Jesus. John testified that he was not the Messiah and his role was to prepare the people for the coming of Light of the World.  Seek the grace to be a light for those whose live you touch and who have not found Christ for He wants all to be saved.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 21.23-27
