1.22.14

 Lectio: Lk 1.57-66

Meditatio: "He asked for a tablet and wrote, ‘John is his name., ‘ and all we amazed. Immediately his tongue freed and she spoke blessing God.” Lk 1.63-54

Oratio: O God, Your love is without end.

I remember when John the Baptist was given his name, his father, Zechariah, who was mute at the time, wrote John, and his tongue was freed. All were amazed but all realized what a great favor, what a great love God showed Zechariah. In prayer thank God for loving us so.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"John...name....tongue free”; by giving his son the name that God wanted for him and not what the world wanted for him, Zechariah made amends for his initial lack of faith and God showed His love for him and gave him back his speech. Seek the grace to appreciate God’s great love for us for without it, we would all perish.

Tomorrow's reading:Lk 1.67-779
