23.30 & 12.31.14

12.30.14

Lectio: Jn 1.1-18

Meditatio: "But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name." Jn 1.12

Oratio: O God, You generous You are!

I remember for accepting Your Son and believing in Him You adopted us as Your children with the full inheritance of the kingdom. In prayer may I always give a You thanks as my gracious Father and to Jesus, my brother, too!

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"accept...become children ...believe"; faith enables us to believe and accept; and faith itself is a great gift! Who are we that God loves us so? Seek the grace to live as His children as that is the best way to show and give thanks.

Tomorrow's reading: Lk 2.12-21

12.31.14

Lectio:Lk 2.16-21

Meditatio: "And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart." Lk 219

Oratio: O God, what a wonderful and glorious thing You did when You selected Mary to be the Mother. Of Your Son.

I remember when the shepherds visited Your Son shortly after His birth in the stable, they told Mary all that the angels had told them about the baby, and Mary kept and pondered them in her heart for she was in the initial phase of her understanding what it meant to be the Mother of God and as He grew and carried out His role she would learn fully what it meant - its joys and sorrows. In prayer thank Jesus for giving us Mary as our mother, too, for we are richly blest to have her as our own.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"Mary...reflecting...her heart"; Mary was graced to learn over time what it meant to be the Mother of Jesus and she accepted both the joys and the sorrows.  Seek the grace to always seek Mary, both in good time and in bad, and you will be graced to find her fir she is your MOTHER!

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 1.19-28
