12.15.14

Lectio:  Mt 21.28-32

Meditatio: "Which of the two did the father’s will?  They answered, ‘The first.’ Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the Kingdom of God before you...’.” Mt 21.31

Oratio: O God, You so much wanted all to accept Your Son but You did not force them.
I remember Jesus told the parable of the two sons to bring home Your offer and the refusal of some to accept it. In prayer seek the grace to say ‘Yes’ to God’s will and then do it for therein is how we place ourselves in a position to accept His gift of the kingdom.
I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "tax collectors...prostitutes .entering...before you”: we cannot count on the fact that we are Catholics that the kingdom of God will be given to us. Rather it s for those accept Jesus and do His Fathers’s will that will result in the Kingdom being given to us. Discern God’s will and then do it living in accord with Gospel values for that is all that God asks of us and He will gift us with His Kingdom.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 1.1-17
