12.24.14

 Lectio: Lk 2.1-14

Meditatio: "The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I proclaim to you good news o f great joy to all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is the Messiah and Lord.” Lk 2,9-11

Oratio: O God, You respond most readily to the unlearned but simple and strong in faith in wonderful ways.

I remember You sent an angel to the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus and to tell them who He is - savior and Messiah. In prayer seek the  faith of the poor and unlearned so like the shepherds, I will be open and aware of the many graces God bestows on me and be ever grateful for them.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
 God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"angel...said...savior born....Messiah”; the angel interpreted the true meaning the mystery of the  Nativity - the Messiah was born who will save the people from everlasting death. Seek the grace to give thanks and glory to God for this most wonderful gift - His Son.

 Tomorrow's reading:Mt 10.17-22
