12.08.14

Lectio:    Mt 18.12-14

Meditatio “And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray.”  Mt 18.13

Oratio: O God, how You love each and everyone of us.

I remember Jesus told a parable about the Good Shepherd who left the 99 to search for one that one lost and finding it rejoiced over that one more than over the 99 and He then concluded by stating it is the same with Hie Father. What a kind and merciful God!

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what
God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "finds...rejoices .more...it...99"; God so loves and wants to recover the lost that He rejoices exceedingly when He does find even one. In prayer seek the Lord that I may be found and no greater ending can come than that and so give thanks and praise.

Tomorrow's reading: Mt 11.12-14
