 Lectio    Jn 15.1-8

Meditatio: "I am the vine, and my Father is the vine grower.” Jn 15.1

Oratio: O God, You gave us Your Son as the vine and You prune the vine so that it bears the fruit You desire.

I remember Jesus declared that we are branches on His Vine and that His Father prunes us, too, so that we produce the fruit He wants of us; otherwise He will cut us off the vine. In prayer seek to allow God’s pruning of me produce the fruit He wants so that I may forever united with Jesus.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect: "vine....Father...vine grower”; what a beautiful image - Jesus is the vine and His
father is the gardener and we are branches on the vine as we are grafted there through our Baptism. Seek the grave to bear the fruit that the Father’s wants so that Jesus’ mission on earth may be achiever.

 Tomorrow's reading: Jn 14.21-26
