5.13.15 and 5.14.15

 5.13.15

 Lectio: Mk 16.15-20

Meditatio: "So then the Lord Jesus, after he spoke to them, was taken up into heaven and took his seat at the right hand of God." Mk 16.19

Oratio: O God, You Provided well for Your Son and for us.

I remember 40 days after His resurrection, You brought Him back to heaven in glory. Pray that I may be faithful to my Baptismal dignity for then You will do for me what You did for Your Son and my brother, Jesus.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"Jesus...taken up...seated...right hand"; Jesus ascended to His Father at the end of His days here on earth.  Seek the grace to stay close to Jesus and His Ascension will be a foretaste of ours.

 Tomorrow's reading: Jn 16.20-23

05.14.15

Lectio:   Jn 16.20-23

Meditatio: "So you also are now in anguish, But I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one  will take your joy away from you.” Jn 16.22

Oratio:  "O God, what consolation  Your Son offered to His disciples the night before He died.

I remember at the last Supper, Jesus told His disciples that they would be sad when He left but they would see Him again and their sadness would turn to an everlasting joy. And they did se Him again for they saw the Risen Christ Who lives on with the Father where someday they will  will ascend and rejoice with Him forever. In prayer give praise and thanks to God for Raising up His Son for as His brothers and sisters we, too, will rise and one day be with Jesus and be with Him in everlasting joy.

I ask these and all things through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with the Father  and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: Keep silence and remain in recollection for a few minutes.

Operatio: reflect on "now...anguish....will rejoice.”; Jesus promised and He fulfilled His promise in His resurrection and His disciples were filled with joy. Seek the grace to be a good disciple of the Lord so that the joy of the Lord will be with us both now and forever.

Tomorrow's reading: Jn 16.23b-28
