5.26.15

Lectio:  Mk 10.32-45

Meditatio: "whoever wishes to first among you will be the slave to all.” Mk 10. 44

Oratio: O God, Your ways are not man’s ways .

I remember when James and John sought the highest places in Jesus’ kingdom, Jesus replied to their request and told them the world’s way of greatness is not His way but rather it is in selfless service - like that of a slave. Pray to live the way of the Lord by serving the needs of others as the first principle to order my life.

I ask this and all things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You
and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Contemplatio: spend some time in silence and meditate on the selected passage and hear what God is saying to you.

Operatio: reflect:"first...slave...all”; James and John sought seats of honor and Jesus let them know the greatest is not based on a seat but on service to others. Seek the grace to follow Jesus’ way to greatness by being a servant to others for it is in selfless service and love that Jesus will be pleased with us and see that we are one day  in His kingdom.

Tomorrow's reading:Mk 10.46=52
